Happy Friday to you all! Thanks for being patient with me. I piled my husband, adult children, and two dogs (fed them Benadryl first) into the car for a four hour trip to see Matt’s first baby niece. It was glorious! What a beautiful baby. But… I’m really tired today. Zombie status. I’d be the first one Michonne would slice to pieces.
Just a quick recap for all our new friends: I had a really ugly mismatched master bedroom. I had a budget the size of Danny DeVito.
She looked like a 4 year old trying to dress herself:
I knew the only thing I had in the budget was new paint and new bedding. Everything else had to stay the same. This was my vision.
And here is the official reveal! We still plan getting junky night stands and dresser to refinish (our current set is on loan from Gina), and hanging pendant lights. (And of course I still detest the blue carpet.) But can you believe your eyes? New paint and bedding. That’s IT. It’s like the ending of an episode of What Not to Wear.
When I was little my mom would pay me $0.10 for each pillow case I ironed. Clearly I only work for paper, because I haven’t ironed a pillow case since. So please excuse the creases in them. We bought all of our bedding on Black Friday. The sheets are from IKEA. They are the EMMIE SPETS. (20% off!) I love the detail knit work and the buttons. It adds a great texture. And the sheets are soft to sleep in too.
And would any post be complete without a heart-melting pictures of the brothers sleeping? I submit to you, that it would not.
The duvet cover and grey pillow shams are from West Elm. It’s called the Organic Pintuck. And according to the nice sales lady, it’s their most popular duvet cover. And for good reason! We also bought this on Black Friday for 10% off.
The throw is from IKEA. It’s the gurli throw, which is ironic, since Aaron picked it out. It should be called the manli throw.
The bench is CRYING LOUD for a make over. It needs to be reupholstered. Bad.
To say we love this new look, is quite the understatement. Our bedroom actually feels like a sanctuary and a place to rest. I’m so thrilled with the quick and dramatic transformation.

Happy Weekending my Friends!
