Your DIY Wingback Rocking Chairs

One of my all time favorite projects is my DIY Wingback Rocker.

One year later it’s holding up like a champion of all chairs!  In fact, I’m writing this post sitting in this chair right now.  I’ve spent hundreds of hours rocking precious Evelyn Faye in this chair.

What I didn’t expect was how many people would follow my tutorial and make their own.  Some have blogs, and some don’t.  But the emails have poured in of your beautiful rockers, and I’m going to show them off!

This nursery is from a reader named Daniel.

This rocker comes from nursery at The Shaker House.  They used a different chair than the Strandmon, and I think it looks awesome in the Marine Corps inspired room.

I love that even though these nurseries all have different themes and styles (I hope you clicked the links to check out the full rooms!!!) the rockers all fit in their element perfectly.

Deconstructed Ottoman

DIY Knock Off Restoration Hardware Ottoman

I’m really excited about today’s post.  We have a guest post brought to us from Jen of The Yellow Brick Cottage.  She is showing us something that she hasn’t even shown on HER blog yet!  Do you feel special?  You should.  Jen is hilarious.  You need to start reading her blog.  She’s incredibly honest and un-sugarcoated.  She knows how to turn a salmonella-carrying reptile into a Ninja Turtle, which is a cooler thing than lemons into lemonade.

All That Glitters Is Gold

Today’s Strut Your Stuff comes from a reader in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She happens to be my name twin.  And I happen to think she has great taste.  She is also extremely witty and creative.  Mackenzie is a broadcast designer at a local news station.  Which is super bomb.  She is even SO rad, she made this fresh frame.  Take it away Kenzie!

Knock Knock {DIY Hall Tree}

DIY Hall Tree made from old door and a bench

Who’s There?

STRUT YOUR STUFF!

Today’s strutting comes from Kiersti in Riverton, Utah.  She’s so boss.  I’ve known Kiersti for a long time.  We lived in the same neighborhood for awhile when I was growing up.  She was supposed to be my youth leader when I was a teenager, but we were more friends than anything.  Now, she’s a rockin mama to 3 lovely girls, and a hardcore fun wife.

Kiersti had a vision of having a beautiful hall tree coat rack.  She commissioned her husband to build her one.

He made it from an old door, a bench, and some crown molding.  All things that you can pull out of your Marry Poppins carpet bag.  Or find on your local classifieds.  Same thing.

Thrifty Thursday – Guest Post

Ah Thursday… the prelude to Friday… AND the day we celebrate our thrifty finds.  Cheap things make my heart sing.  This week’s Thrifty Thursday makeover is brought to us by Emma from Broke Ass Home.  Our blog-love-story is a great one.  Brought together by the hands of bloggersphere-fate.  Her and I are new-found soul-cysters.  Not only is she a great blogger, she is turning out to be a great friend!  Emma is the queen of projects on pennies.  Seriously, check her out.  Look her up and down, and give her a wink.  And tell her Kenz sent ya.  Here is the story of how she worked magic on an ugly old lamp:
