A Quick Update:
Remember my depressing post about our basement woes? I am happy to tell you that I have an amazing hunk-of-a-husband who spent all week working hard to fix the electrical issues lurking in the ceiling.
Go Aaron! We have been on a roll this week. We got a good portion of dry wall done too.
The real exciting part for me is starting to pull the design together. I have been crushing SO HARD on Restoration Hardware for the past year. I love the classy industrial look. Since our dining room was a little on the feminine side, I thought we could do our family room a little masculine for Mister. We are using a lot of metal, reclaimed wood, leather, and other natural elements. We keep referring it as “a family room Indiana Jones would hang out in.” We want a lot of old world accessories. Maps, globes, airplanes, etc. So now I am excited to introduce to you, (drum roll) my mood board!
I used Chip It to help me pick paint colors and coordinate everything. I LOVE CHIP IT. I know my mood board looks a little busy, but it makes perfect sense to me of all the things I am working on. The top right (next to the curtains) is what is happening in the nook. A leather cushion and hanging light will be perfect. I have the book case and sofa table inspiration on the bottom right. The rug under the couch… the couch (that is the closest picture I could find of the couch we already have). Pillows to make… walls to paint… This is my favorite part. I AM SO EXCITED!

Thanks for stopping by IBK! Our motto 'round these parts is: DIY BRAVERY! Extreme humiliation shouldn't keep us from creating beautiful things.
